The Colts Neck Renovation

Welcome to the Colts Neck Renovation! The priorities for this project were to optimize function in the kitchen and create timeless design that was well-suited to the home's location--it is situated in the gorgeous, rolling farmland town of Colts Neck, where more traditionally opulent homes can be found. We aimed to add in a touch of luxury while still sticking to our roots of grounded organic textures. The balance of the two resulted in a comfortable yet sophisticated space, well-suited for entertaining and the everyday bustle of the family of four.

When designing this kitchen, we were intentional about selecting a neutral palette that would not only bring a sense of calm and cohesion to the space but also work in harmony with the home’s architecture to reflect and amplify the natural light that pours in throughout the day.

Creating a focal point in the kitchen for hosting and connection was a key priority for the clients from the start.

The impressive ceiling height in our clients' great room risked making the space feel cavernous. To counterbalance that scale, we

selected a statement light fixture in a darker finish to draw the eye and anchor the room. We then introduced rich textures and

thoughtful layering to infuse the space with warmth and make it feel inviting and grounded.
