Salt Design Company: The Team Behind the Work

A fresh introduction is in order!

We often share the work we’re creating, the projects we’re immersed in, and moments from behind the scenes. It feels like the perfect time to reintroduce the team who makes it all possible. We hope this closer look give you insight into the talented individuals behind the work we do here at Salt Design.
Over the past almost twelve years, our team has been built with intention and care. Now a team of 12 - we’ve placed thoughtful focus on how our team is structured, establishing clear workflows and fostering an environment that is creative, collaborative and genuinely enjoyable to be part of. We’re excited to introduce the people behind our designs and behind the scenes and share how we thoughtfully structure our teams for each project.
Our Approach with Our Clients
Every project begins with an introductory call with Erin, our COO. Once the client is fully onboarded, a design team is assembled based on workload and project scope. Each team typically includes a Lead Designer along with additional Designers, depending on the project's size and complexity.
As the design process moves forward our Office Manager, Martha, coordinates warehousing and oversees installation logistics to ensure everything runs seamlessly at the final stage.
During the furniture phase, our Senior Stylist, Dana, joins the project to thoughtfully curate accessories, artwork, pillows, and finishing details that bring the design to the finish line.
Our Marketing Manager, Courtney, is also involved throughout the process, capturing progress and gathering content - typically as the project nears completion and the home begins to fully take shape.
How We Work Together As A Team
In late 2025, we expanded our office (stay tuned for the official reveal of the expansion!). Our space is designed as an open, shared environment that fosters creativity and collaboration. Not only does it make the workday more enjoyable, but it also allows us to build relationships across roles and teams, strengthening how we work together as a whole. Fun Fact: We’re not just teammates - many of us are friends outside of work, too.
Our executive team is made up of Sarah, our Founder and Creative Director; Molly, Chief Financial Officer; and Erin, Chief Operating Officer. Together, they set the company's vision and tone, providing leadership across the organization, supporting each team, and staying actively involved in the day-to-day business.
The broader team includes a Design Director, six Interior Designers, a Senior Stylist, an Office Manager, Marketing Manager, and a Design Assistant. Every role is essential to our overall success. After evolving through various team structures over the years, we truly feel we’ve found a rhythm that works - one that allows for both clarity and growth. (We’ll share more about each individual role below.)
Beyond the projects, we enjoy spending time together - team lunches, happy hours, workouts, swapping book & recipe recommendations and even the occasional speech at a fellow co-workers wedding.
Meet The Team
Executive Team
Sarah - As many of you know, Sarah is our Founder and Creative Director. She’s the visionary behind everything we do here at Salt Design Company and is heavily involved in both the design work and everything else that keeps Salt running. She leads the design direction for projects, and has (too) many collaborative meetings every week, both internally and externally. When Sarah isn’t running her business you can find her with her husband Matt, kids Makena and Hutch and their pup Cali either on the soccer sidelines, traveling, enjoying the beach, or spending time with family in Massachusetts.
Erin - Erin is our Chief Operating Officer and truly the backbone of our operations. She oversees client onboarding and the purchasing of all project goods ensuring everything arrives as intended and every detail lands exactly as it should. Erin is a mom to three little girls and loves taking them skiing in Vermont with her husband, AJ, during the colder months.
Molly - Molly is our Chief Financial Officer and she turns all of our big goals into clear action plans. Molly assists in hiring and the business side of the firm. She oversees all of our billing and bookkeeping making sure our business continues to grow and flourish. When Molly isn’t plugged into QuickBooks and checking numbers you can find her enjoying the outdoors with her husband Steve, their almost two-year-old son James and their fur baby Kula.
Fun Fact: Molly is Sarah’s little sister
Marketing + Office Administration
Courtney - Courtney is our Marketing Manager here at Salt. She works closely with Sarah to shape and execute our marketing strategy across the company. From managing timelines to developing on-brand content (creating reels, planning posts, and interacting with our community) and PR, she spends her time keeping our messaging cohesive and consistent. When she isn’t working she can be found with her husband in their favorite place: Long Beach Island.
Martha - Our Office Manager Martha ensures that our workspace runs efficiently and we’re fully stocked with Diet Cokes at all times. Kidding aside, Martha is heavily involved in order management and scheduling installation dates for our clients. Her relationships with our vendors help us keep the trains coming on time. Martha is a mom of two and on the weekends can be found strolling around downtown Red Bank or enjoying a pilates class.

Fun Fact: Courtney and Martha have known each other for years before working together. Martha and Courtney’s younger brother went to high school together!
Design + Styling Team
Jessica - Our Design Director, Jess started with Salt six months after Sarah opened the doors. She guides design development and execution of projects that we take on. Working closely with the entire design team and our clients, Jess helps shape and carry out the vision for projects big and small. She oversees construction documents, manages client relationships, and dives deep into understanding each client’s needs and story to bring our clients’ dreams to life. Jess and her husband are raising a growing handsome little boy and enjoy spending time with family!
Karen, Peyton, Nicole, Katherine, & Lauren - our design team. This team designs and executes projects through every phase of the design process, handling all details (drawings, elevations, and all the behind-the-scenes work that makes a home come together). You can find them on site visits, in presentations, and collaborating with the rest of the team bringing your interior dreams to life.
Fun Facts about this Crew:
Karen's been volunteering regularly at her church's thrift store for about four years, and loves every minute of it!
Nicole and Peyton went to college together and although they knew each other, their friendship didn’t flourish until they were hired at the same time here at Salt. Nicole will be a bridesmaid in Peyton’s wedding this coming November!

Katherine - hasn't met a hot yoga class she doesn't love, especially Bask in Brielle.
Lauren - has identical twins! Do you know the odds of having identical twins is 0.4%?!
Dana - our Senior Stylist originally started with Salt in our retail store. Since then, she has grown into our Senior Stylist. She adds the special finishing touches to our projects, and also helps clients with a blank slate pick out furnishings, light fixtures, wallpaper, etc. Dana resides in Atlantic Highlands with her husband and two boys.
Izzy - Izzy is the newest member to join our team here at Salt Design. She’s a graduate of Franklin & Marshall and played on the women’s Lacrosse team all four years. Izzy is a big support to the design team, she sources items, takes notes on the job site, keeps us organized, and handles everything in between. She helps keep the design team moving.
