Interior Designer
Hi everyone! My name is Nicole, an Interior Designer here at Salt. My passion for design began as a means to solve a problem. When I was a little girl, I faced a unique challenge: where would all my Barbies sleep when the Dreamhouse only had one bedroom? I transformed my room using macaroni noodles to extend the footprint of the Dreamhouse, creating makeshift rooms. But even before there was design, there was art. I spent countless hours exploring art museums and fairs with my mom, each visit inspiring me with different styles and techniques. I would sketch or paint anything I saw, letting my imagination run wild hoping I would become the next Claude Monet.
As I followed my passion, I received an Interior Design degree at Kean University, where I deepened my love for art through my Art History minor. I am deeply inspired by expressionism art, which reflects in my choice of colors and textures. I gravitate towards moody spaces featuring rich, deep color schemes that create an inviting yet dramatic atmosphere. I love layering textures—think soft fabrics, reclaimed woods, and sleek metals—to create depth and interest in a room.
I cherish my time at home, where I find my personal peace, but don’t let that fool you—I’m definitely not just a homebody! My boyfriend Steve would tell you I’m always making plans. Whether it’s enjoying a day at a winery with friends, cozying up by the fire in Mount Holly at my aunt and uncle's, or heading down to Florida for a long weekend with my mom and stepdad, I love to keep life exciting.
Being near the water is where I truly thrive. During the Summer, you can find me by a pool, on the beach, or out on a boat. I grew up believing there was no better place on earth than the beach, which is why I decided to move closer to the shore. Life is all about balance for me—finding joy in both the comfort of home and the thrill of adventure!
